A Not-So-Normal Life

Whenever Chainsaw Man touches on the family unit that is Denji and Pochita, my heart crumbles, and I am reminded that I should never take my situation in life for granted. This aspect of the manga was one of the primary hooks for me to get invested in their story along with the rest of the cast.

So, of course, I wanted to try and capture that in an illustration! I really hope y'all get to see how I pushed for a combination of familial warmth and the looming dread of what's to come in one image.

I especially hope I was able to capture Denji and Pochita in my art style without making them look too realistic (the uncanny-valley kind). Pochita, especially, was so fun to work on since I referenced some cute puppy pug photos. Hehehe.
